| How to take care of your tattoo |
Three hours after the tattoo session is over remove the hygienic foil (gauze) from the tattoo and rinse the tattoo carefully, so that the extra colour can be washed away. Then apply Gentamicin (antibiotic ointment) on the skin. Be sure you use small amounts, in order not to cause an allergy. Use a (vitamin) fish ointment Yekoderm for the next 14 days. Use also small amounts and apply it every 2 to 3 hours.
** Unless you don’t use the ointment regularly and properly, a crust will appear on your tattoo, and it can also fade away faster and easier!!!
You must not, under any circumstances, directly expose your tattoo to sunlight, or take baths in a river or lake (where the water is dirty)
** It is nice and useful to apply any kind of skin cream on the tattoo for the next 10 days after the healing process, so that it can become more shiny and the colours better absorbed in the skin.
** During the healing process, you must not let anyone touch your tattoo because of danger of infections.

** If you decide to have a tattoo during the summer period use a sunblock body lotion with the highest UV factor which will prevent your tattoo from losing colour. |
| Is having a tattoo done painful? |
Generally, the intensity of the pain depends on the body point where you want the tattoo done, but it also depends on the person and his/her organism. The hormone endorphin is known to help reducing the pain and discomfort, and the pain is felt during the first 5 min (until you get accustomed to the feeling). The hormone endorphin is connected to the “enjoyment centers in the brain”, so it could be said that tattoos are an addiction or in some people, they may cause a feeling of sexual pleasure. The pain might be provoked by our feeling of expectation, which causes nervousness and contraction of the body muscles. On the contrary, the more relaxed the body is, the less pain you feel. Another reason for feeling pain is that the tattoo artist might not be a professional and he pierces the skin deeper than he/she should and is necessary. |
| Before getting a tattoo |
Before getting a tattoo, you MUST inform the tattoo artist of any diseases that you may have, such as: hemophilia (difficult blood coagulation), haemorrhagе (quick appearance of bruises due to rupture of blood vessels), diabetes, allergy to iodine, creams, metals, blood pressure problems, pregnancy (possible skin problems, dizziness, inability to endure the tattoo process, droop). In the case of pregnancy, consulting a doctor is highly recommended.** You must not be hungry, sleepy (tiredness and lack of energy may cause nervousness, uncontrolled movements of the body, increased sensitivity and, in some cases, fainting). Of course, you must not use any kinds of drugs or alcohol 24 hours before your appointment with the tattooartist. Otherwise, consuming these substances can only lead to unwanted consequences such as bleeding. |
| How to find a motif? |
Before you choose what you want to decorate your body with, it is best to have the complete and right information first. Usually, when people get tattooed for the first time, they choose smaller tattoos and more hidden parts of the body. However, if they decide to have a second tattoo, it is then definitely the complete opposite from the first one. It is best and easiest to select a motif that is typical only for you and no one else! It could be something to which you are attached personally and emotionally, for example a memory, a person, an event... something that has a meaning only to you! Those motifs which are chosen on the spot and without previously giving them good thought usually saturate people’s need for a tattoo very quickly and easily, so it is possible that you might start feeling like that tattoo is no longer interesting or meaningful for you, let alone wishing to mark your body for the rest of your life! If some particular styles are forced today, it does not mean that they won’t be fashionable tomorrow or that it will be foolish of you to pick them for your body!
TATTOOS ARE NOT FASHION VICTIMS! THEY ARE NOT INFLUENCED BY FASHION AS THEY LAST A LIFETIME! |
| What is the kind of tattoo parlour where you should get a tattoo? |
First and foremost, look around you and notice whether the parlour is clean and tidy and whether there is a sterilizer where all the equipment should be adequately sterilized. Notice if the tubes are clean (there are no colour stains or residue) and if the artist wears gloves. The needles must be new (so they cannot be sterilized and are for one use only). Ask for evidence that will make you sure of the artist’s skills, professionalism and expertise. You can also find an unskilled and uneducated amateur who works at home and he could do your tattoo at a lower price, but also a lower quality!! You should have a look at his previous works (completed tattoos), as well.
NEVER GO TO TATTOO PARLOURS THAT DO NOT PROVIDE THE PROPER STANDARDIZED CONDITIONS! OTHERWISE, YOU MIGHT GET A CHEAPER TATTOO, BUT YOUR LIFE AND HEALTH ARE PRICELESS!!! |
