1.At the begining please tell us something about you and your first starts with tattooing.
My name is Chelo Llerandi.I was born in Buenos Aires,but i spend most of the time in Spain due my work.My passion for tattooing began in 1991 promoted n influenced by the few tatt mags that circulated in Argentina in those days.There were not many tatt professionals and there was a lack of comunication and relations among the colleages of the tattooing profession so i had to learn the tricks by myself.
2.How long have you been professionally tattooing?
professionally, my career really started in 1994 ,when i bought my proper equipment.
3.What did your family and friends think about you getting into the tattoo business?
My family was not so happy at the begginings but they realised in tehir own time that i wanted to develop my talent through tattooing but my friends allways were possitive and gave me their support.
4.Do you have any formal art training?Do you thing thats necessary to become a good artist?
I have gain all the training and live experiance through my 12 years of traveling , sharing my work with talented artists.However even if im a sleftought person and i have been drawing since i was young,i think is very and i think is very important.
5.Whos tattooing is developing in Argentina?
I think that there are many excellent artists with a wide range of different styles acosoblished and shows their art around the world.
6.What do you think about tattooing minors and do you tattoo any in your studio?
I totally desagree with the idea of tattooing people under age ,kids have their whole life to think what want kind of tattoo they want for all life .
7.Your tattoos are really awsome and the most of the designs are japanese , is that you favourite style or
those designs are the most wanted form your customers?
I consider myself as a person who tryes to satisfy my clients to a great standard no matther what style they want. However im confortable to do all styles ,so i dont like to put any limits.
8.In the tattoo industry, we're seeing some new types of inks coming out. ... Which tattoo ink do you use , and which one do u preffer as a good example?
I guess its all a matter of taste and choice.
9.Nowadays we can see a lot of new tattoo styles,do you think that the older styles may lose their significance in time?
No! In fact,I dont think that there are new styles , belive that the styles nowadays are only a variations of the old styles ,changed and adapted by the new products and techniques that we are able to chose .The new equipment are helping us to elaborate more and more good and quality professional tattoos.
10.For the end of this short interview can you tell us something about your plans in future?
I would like to continue enjoyning my work in the same way i do now .I keep the doors open for a new opportunities and experiances that may come up ...
